Welder

Hurtt Fabricating has an exciting new career opportunity and is accepting applications and resumes for welder position(s). We are seeking candidates who are highly motivated, have a strong work ethic, and enjoy working in a hands-on, team environment.

The welder:

  • Welds materials in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions

  • Cuts and smoothens metal components using plasma cutters and portable grinders to carry out welding according to set dimensions

  • Reads and interprets blueprints and production drawings in order to lay out a welding project

  • Operates forklifts/cranes in conveying work materials to welding site

  • Conducts hydrostatic, x-ray, and tolerance tests to assess weld quality and conformance to specifications

  • Collaborates with supervisor and welding leads to ensure smooth work operations and adherence to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment

  • Guides and directs the activities of inexperienced/trainee welders

  • Communicates with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials

  • Can continuously stand 7.5 to10 hours and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent

Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus. Applicants must be dependable, punctual, and safety-oriented. All applicants offered a job will be drug tested.
